Annotation: This national program is aimed primarily at professionals in state and local health agencies who have significant responsibility for collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting Maternal And Child Health data. On different years the course is geared to individuals with beginning to intermediate or intermediate to advanced skills in statistical and epidemiologic methods, preferably in MCH or a related field.

Annotation: Mediation is at the core of dispute resolution. By educating and helping people to resolve conflict, their quality of life is enhanced and as well as that of their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. The Mediation Center of the Pacific, Inc. provides Hawai’i residents with peaceful approaches to working through conflict through programs and processes that meet the unique needs of Hawai’i’s culturally diverse population.

Annotation: This session of the System of Care Expansion Leadership Learning Community focuses on collaboration – among and across child-serving system partners; families and youth; and state, community, and tribal jurisdictions. We talk often about why we collaborate (sometimes we are required to) and sometimes we talk about how to do it. The learning community meeting provides an opportunity to talk about whether we are really doing it and how to improve collaboration to achieve system of care expansion goals. Leaders are critical to the process of collaboration, and the strategies shared will help leaders to learn how to assess and improve collaboration in their system of care efforts. The presenter provides space to touch on why and when we collaborate, how we might collaborate better, and how we know that we are working in collaboration to promote complex change in health and human service systems.

Annotation: Today's public health professionals must be able to strategically consider research results, political interests, and community requests when leading program and policy work. The evidence-based public health framework is an effective model for this type of decision-making. The Evidence-Based Public Health Training Series consists of nine modules that cover core concepts, such as defining public health issues, conducting community assessments, prioritizing options, and evaluating program and policy impacts. You may take each of the modules individually and receive a certificate for each one. If you choose to complete all nine modules, you will also receive a certificate for the series as a whole. Each module consists of several videos, followed by a short quiz. You must watch the videos and take the quiz in order to pass the module. To aid in your understanding, optional activities and questions for reflection or discussion are also included with each module. You may discuss these questions in a forum with other module participants or with peers or colleagues, or you may reflect on them individually.
