This video provides an overview of Health Impact Assessment (HIA). HIA is one approach to build working relationships with partners outside of public health in pursuit of health equity.

Addressing health equity often requires public health practitioners to build partnerships outside their traditional networks, but how do you move these partnerships beyond dialogue and into action? Health Impact Assessment, or HIA, is one approach to build working relationships with potential partners outside the public health sector in the pursuit of health equity. A newly released resource from the National MCH Workforce Development Center provides an overview of how the HIA process can be useful for MCH professionals as they address the underlying social and environmental determinants of health.
