Annotation

Dr. Tricia Rose’s presentation focuses on leadership, equity, justice, and health. In it, she links degenerating urban health conditions, social context, and environmental circumstances to structural inequality. She explains that structural circumstances have a hidden power to profoundly shape not only behavior but also opportunity and outcome, thus impacting health and all other areas of life. She emphasizes that this legacy of inequality, should not and cannot be ignored and that public health leaders play a critical role in addressing these systemic barriers and ensuring fair and equitable access to care and services regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status.
