MCH CELL: The Art of Evaluation: Building, Bridging and Broadening Program Impact through Community Engaged Courses
In Workshop #3 of the MCH CELL for Community-Engaged Learning Lab (MCH CELL) series, we highlight a graduate-level public health program evaluation course at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. It includes an overview of the program evaluation course, the collaborative assignment, and the value of community-partnered evaluation courses for both students and public health organizations.

The first part of the session (recording below) is a recorded presentation and the second part (unrecorded) was a group discussion to learn from one another on how others have engaged in similar partnerships and courses, including challenges and ways to overcome them.

Anisa Saleh introduces the MCH CELL series, links the content of MCH CELL to the MCH Leadership Competencies, and introduces the speakers for the session.
Set: Sharing Our Story
Julianna Deardorff presents the "nuts and bolts" of the evaluation course she teaches at UC Berkeley and lessons learned along with challenges faced with the end goal of creating a great community partnership.
Go: Reflections and Outcomes
Julia then hands over the presentation to Kelechi to talk about taking what she learned to the next steps of working in the field, creating a great community partnership, the outcomes and her reflections.
